We have one but never switch it on, unless one or the other of us is out. We use it for emergencies such as one of us being out and not able to get to a land line.
Why does anyone choose to pay the high cost of mobile phone calls? Thankfully we do not feel the need to be constantly on call to family and friends.
And while we are on the subject - we don't want to hear other people's phone calls but cannot avoid it - people talk so loudly on them - there is just no getting away from them - on the train, the bus, the supermarket, the street. Why not have a phone implant into your ear? I suppose that will be the next craze.
I know they are useful for business people but what is so important it cannot wait until you next meet? Think of how much you would have to say then.
Thanks goodness I was born at a time before mobiles were invented - I would hate to think others thought I was available whenever they chose and wherever I was - out shopping, at the doctors, in the car, out for a quiet walk.
I enjoy peace and quiet too much to choose to have my day constantly broken by phone calls. I can choose not to answer my land line, but could offend someone by refusing to answer their call on my mobile. For heavans sake, get a life and do something interesting.
