Work

It's amazing how much housework I can get through when my OH is away in hospital. That's because I cannot settle to anything concentrated computerish - if you get my drift. Been expecting him home since last Thursday - perhaps today will be the day.

I wander around the house wondering what to do until he phones to say if he will be allowed home today. Oh, look that bit of skirting hasn't been cleaned for a while. And while I'm at it there are finger marks on the door. Is that a cobweb? Haven't had the curtains down for a wash for a while - hmm, perhaps I'd better leave those for when he is back home and fit. Anything in the washing basket. Oh, look the toaster needs the crumb tray emptied. And it needs a wipe down. Well, so does the kettle. And the microwave. Might as well give the sink a clean while I'm at it, although it doesn't look too bad. That door cill to the back porch needs a wipe down, and the door, and now I see the floor in the back porch needs a sweep and clean.

It's never ending.

Is the radiator on in the bedroom, ready for him? Now I come to look more carefully the skirtings down the stairs need a dust. Oh heavans, the hall light is covered in cobwebs. Is there no end?

Oh, please - do come home today. I'm exhausted. I want us to settle back into our routine of ignorance is bliss. But first I have to shop - how to get to the supermarket. It snowed, and melted and now  the roads are frozen. Not a good time to consider starting to drive again.
Oh, damn, I'll shop on line, its easier!
