Waiting

I'm just sitting here - filling in the time - until you decide you want to contact me.
Honestly
No, not really - it's been a busy day and I know  if I sat waiting for you to contact me I could wait forever.
Oh, I'm disappointed?
Really? I'm not - I find so many things to do with my time.
Like what?
You have to ask? So what have you been doing today?
Not much.
What a waste of a life.
Hmmm! and you?
Well I was late getting to bed last night because I watched Queen and then an excellent stage show on Sky Arts HD. The postman woke me at 7.30 - and I spent the next quarter of an hour filling some lavendar bags having just received a packet of lavender in the mail.
Then I went downstairs and watched the news, then walked for ten minutes. Fed our pet blackbird who comes down daily. Had breakfast then showered. Cleaned bathroom. Put out clean towels.Dried my hair. Put some of the  towels in the washer.
Answered a couple of email genealogy queries. Made mid morning tea and coffee. Hung the towels out and put another lot in the washer. Tumbled yesterday's white laundry. Folded yesterday's dark laundry and took it upstairs to be aired.
Opened my mail. Dealt with several interruptions from my OH to discuss in his belief he had lost his computer anti-virus program - arguing with him for about it for twenty minutes (which was a waste of time because he didn't believe that he had replaced it with another program) - showed what he needed to do (check with antivirus program supplier) - which, after he had done this, proved that he had replaced his anti-virus program with a newer version, just as I had said. :-{
Sorted out a good half dozen problems from the Australian researcher's letter and entered the details into my genealogy program,  by which time it was lunchtime. Prepared lunch. Then dusted the front room and hall.
Checked daughter's Twitter and my BLOG stats. Wrote a complex explanatory covering letter to the fellow researcher with the details received from the Australian researcher. Opened an email received a couple of days ago from same fellow researcher who had a research query.
Went downstairs and emptied washer and hung out the towels and put a third lot in. Folded laundry from the tumbler.  Searched for and found the paper serviettes which I knew I had but which had taken themselves off and hidden themselves at the back of the cupboard in the utility room. (Having bought replacements I now have 100  serviettes and I use about ten a year!!)
Showed my OH how to split four chicken breasts in two by a quick thump on the edge of the counter. (OH most impressed!) Ironed a shirt. Sewed on a button. Emptied dehumidifier.
Spent rest of afternoon completing the research of that family and emailed back the results. Commiserated with OH over result of football match.
Oh, so you didn't do much then today?
No, I suppose not. Just a normal sort of day for me -
cause I'm a woman - W-O-M-A-N.
Now its time to start thinking of dinner!
