Chewing gum

While I think of it - I've been meaning to mention this for weeks.
I thought we had got the country out of the habit of spitting in public. Filthy habit - it turns the stomach to see footballers doing it today.
Then the craze for chewing gum began. Thanks to the Americans it became popular over here - especially among the young, not to mention footballers and the managers; and we are now forced to watch the never ending football managers jaws working overtime, and to walk on filthy streets.
Now if spitting on the ground was and is disgusting, unhealthy and spreads disease- why are we letting people spit out chewing gum wherever they like? Our pavements are littered with it. Filthy habit. Just as disgusting, unhealthy and disease spreading as spitting was.
Dirty, disgusting people!
