Christmas

It's that busy time when we try to opt out of most things such as over-eating and over-visiting. I suppose we are a miserable couple to most people - we enjoy our own company!
No decorations - Christmas tree - wreath on door - lights in window. Yes, we are definitely not in the Christmas spirit of things, thank heavans.
Nevertheless cannot get away entirely from Christmas card time and am up and running. Cards bought - address labels and newslatters printed - card lists made.
Freezer stocked - mince pies finished (eaten , that is, husband doesn't wait for Christmas Day) - lots of TV programs saved to avoid having to watch all those endlessly repeated programmes and films which are going out on the 24th and 25th  (did you notice that - I spelt programmes the correct way!) - Christmas presents to each other out of the way.

Have received two Christmas cards already - some people get going really early.
Keep the disturbance down to a minimum is our motto nowadays. Yes, we truly are a miserable couple - but, would you believe it - we like our Christmas this way. We will not be feeling bloated and worrying about having put on weight - or suffering from hangovers. You do your thing at Christmas and we will do ours!
We shall, however, be looking over the year and giving thanks that it has ended well - we have much to be grateful for this year.  (HJM being back in our lives for a start!)
Whoever you are, and whatever your religion, say a little prayer for us.
Merry Christmas, every one! But especially to all our children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and family wherever you live in the world.
