On the move

Well of course we were expecting to move at the end of May but my gall bladder decided otherwise and here we are on the 21st July and in the middle of completing packing and signing contracts prior to our move to Cornwall at the end of the month.
It is wonderful to know we shall soon be living near to our daughter and will be able to give her the support she never received from her husband. A useless character who couldn't even put a shelf up straight, whchh even I can do!
Heather, my daughter, is so looking forward to our arrival. Our new home is waiting for us and we are looking forward to making it a happy place for her and her partner to visit.
I haven't been able to help Joe much with the moving arrangements but fortunately the removal company are doing most of the packing and that which we had to do was mostly completed before I fell ill.
What a lot of old 'toot' (as my father used to call it) one collects over the years. We have given a lot of duplicate or un-needed items to Freecycle an excellent way of disposing of unwanted bits and pieces especially since the person who wants it comes to collect it.
Just in case anyone else is thinking of moving from the north-east to the south-west, the move has cost us between £3000 and £4000. Ouch!
I am flying down on the 2nd August to Newquay and Joe follows in the car the following day and is planning to take a few days on the journey, stopping overnight as and when he feels the need. At our age it would be impossible to do the journey in one go!
See you in Cornwall.
