The world about us

Anyone my age and over must really despair. We can compare and see that the world today  is no better now than it has been for centuries - it does not change. Despite 'progress' and 'civilization', new inventions, discoveries and medical break throughs -  human weakness still stalks the world and will, we can see,  eventually be the downfall of the human race.

After the second world war we said - this must never happen again. But it is, isn't it? Or are your eyes closed? We see the most appalling things happening. People killing because of religion, or because they believe they are superior to others , or because of something that happened centuries ago, or because they want something they haven't got and want, and while this is going on they feel no guilt for the innocents being killed in the most grotesque manner, and the women and children abused appallingly.  Do those guilty of all have no conscience?

We see the world being despoiled in this constant search for energy or land; governments who mismanage, no matter their politics, and greed within them and at all levels of our society, in every country in the world.

We see gross poverty and cannot understand why people want to find a better life elsewhere. We see the ignorance of those who have wealth and power and we know - they really have no idea of what life is about.

Yes, anyone my age and over must really despair.
