Chief Joseph (1840-1904), leader of the Wallowa band of the Nez Perce Indian tribe during its desperate, daring war with the United States in 1877 said
'White man speak with forked tongue.'
I have always been a believer in being fair, honest and open in my dealings with others but there are those who preach one set of ethics while living with a completely different set, and see themselves as a law unto themselves.
Society expects us to conduct ourselves in an ethical manner according to accepted standards - not just when it suits us but in all our dealings, personal or public. Conviction and self-interest do not determine what is right or wrong and an honorable and decent person knows the difference and acts accordingly.
Is this you? Who else?
