Some get so comfortable half way along and settle down to wait for something, they know not what, to happen to get them out. They are so wrapped up in their problem they almost seem to give up, perhaps thinking they are the only ones who have had tunnels to traverse.
What they do not realise is that there is no one else in their tunnel except themselves, so nobody will come along to get them out except themselves. Yes, we have supportive family and friends, but in the long run it is the traveller's strength of character which will get them through.
Nicolai Lenin said to his mother - The most important thing in an illness is not to lose heart. Pam did not lose heart. Through the many grim days ahead of her she had the will to overcome and the determination not to give up. Her will power kept pushing her on, and in her heart she kept that little seed of hope alive.
How very proud her family and friends must be. Well done Pam, and all those others who have entered that dark tunnel and are still pushing forward. Take heart.
