There is more to life than just sitting around waiting for it to come to you. You will wait forever if you wait for that special person,  job or experience to cross your path. You have to go out and meet life half way, and  learn to deal sensibly with the problems life brings. You have a brain, find the best way of dealing with life's problems, and when you make a mistake, learn from it and move forward.
