You have to admire an 86 year old who can stand for hours on end in the cold and rain, and still come up smiling at the end of it. Bet there weren't many 86 year olds lining the banks of the Thames who could do the same.
Her life has not been her own since she ascended the throne sixty years ago, and she has carried out her duties with dignity, stood by the promises she made in 1953, and has never betrayed the people. Not many can say that either.
So a big raspberry to all the anti-monarchists. She's worth every penny.
