So here we are in the UK (and Europe too, for all I know) using energy saving light bulbs and switching off the standby on our TVs. Why are we bothering?
Did you see New York at night when it had been evacuated recently when Hurricane Irene was expected? Everyone had left the lights on! Great energy saving going on in the States - and it probably goes on in most big cities there, as it does in the UK. Have you seen pictures of our Earth at night - with all those cities lit up like Christmas trees?
The public are expected to do their bit to cut down on their energy use and here are all these businesses ignoring the problem. Shame on you.
