Woody

As I said - Woody has been in our garden for a couple of years. We'll say he's a 'he' for now but he could just as easily be a she.
Question: Where did he come from? Why is he alone? Does he miss company?

We think he has his nest under the bird table and as we sometimes move this from place to place - he travels with it.  It' quite cosy - a sturdy wooden box, partly filled with bricks, from which as post sticks up - on top of which is the bird box.
The lower box has a ceramic sort of lid - so he is well protected from the weather. Plenty of food, of course, because the birds are very untidy - especially the starling which pick up pieces they don't want from the bird table and drop it over the side.
We also have friendly blackbirds come down - we put out currants for them and whistle, and they come down and feed while you are sitting nearby.
