My taste is a bit eclectic - I don't generally like violence but loved Gladiator and regularly watch Bones and CSI and I like a good courtroon film. At present am watching Enemy at the Door which is being re-run.
At one time, when younger, I read a lot and then life got in the way but since I was given a Kindle at Christmas I put by half an hour at bedtime to read and have downloaded lots of free books from Amazon and similar sites which have good collections of clssical writing. I like reading diaries etc and found Nathaniel Hawthorne's writing on his time in Liverpool fascinating. I have also re-read a couple of Rider Haggard although he can overdo the descriptive bits.
Music - a variety of classical, country, ballads, brass bands, steel bands, WW2 and pre-war songs.
Find English history fascinating and my own and other people's family history even more fascinating.
I like reading what I would call countryman's poetry (not pastoral which is idealised) - I like John Clare. Thought I liked Hiawatha and have it on my Kindle but after a time I found it was a bit laborious to read although I remember reading the story at school.
Enjoy reading Patricia Cornwell and at present am reading Antony Trollope (Chronicles of Barset and other books) and Elizabeth Gaskell - Cranford and others.
